Voltage staircase in a current-biased quantum-dot Josephson junction

چکیده

We calculate the current-voltage ($I\ensuremath{-}V$) characteristic of a Josephson junction containing resonant level in weakly coupled regime (resonance width small compared to superconducting gap). The phase $\ensuremath{\phi}$ across becomes time dependent response DC current bias. Rabi oscillations Andreev levels produce staircase $I\ensuremath{-}V$ characteristic. number voltage steps counts per $2\ensuremath{\pi}$ increment $\ensuremath{\phi}$, providing way probe coherence qubit absence any external AC driving. phenomenology is same as Majorana-induced Shapiro topological junctions Choi et al. [Phys. Rev. B 102, 140501(R) (2020)]---but now for nontopological qubit.

Quantum noise in current biased Josephson junction

Quantum fluctuations in a current biased Josephson junction, described in terms of the RCSJ-model, are considered. The fluctuations of the voltage and phase across the junction are assumed to be initiated by equilibrium current fluctuations in the shunting resistor. This corresponds to low enough temperatures, when fluctuations of the normal current in the junction itself can be neglected. We u...

Nonclassical photon pair production in a voltage-biased Josephson junction.

We investigate electromagnetic radiation emitted by a small voltage-biased Josephson junction connected to a superconducting transmission line. At frequencies below the well-known emission peak at the Josephson frequency (2eV/h), extra radiation is triggered by quantum fluctuations in the transmission line. For weak tunneling couplings and typical Ohmic transmission lines, the corresponding pho...

Model of multiphoton transitions in a current-biased Josephson junction

We present a simple model to describe multiphoton transitions between the quasi-bound states of a currentdriven Josephson junction. The transitions are induced by applying an ac voltage with controllable frequency and amplitude across the junction. The voltage induces transitions across the junction when the frequency satisfies n = E10, where E10 is the splitting between the ground and first ex...

Quantum current modeling in nano-transistors with a quantum dot

Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) serve as a new class of ‘zero dimensional’ nanomaterial’s in thecarbon class with sizes below 10 nm. As light emitting nanocrystals, QDs are assembled from semiconductormaterials, from the elements in the periodic groups of II-VI, III-V or IV-VI, mainly thanks to impacts of quantum confinement QDs have unique optical properties such as brighter, highly pho...

Current responses and voltage fluctuations in Josephson-junction systems

– We consider arrays of Josephson junctions as well as single junctions in both the classical and quantum-mechanical regimes, and examine the generalized (frequency-dependent) resistance, which describes the dynamic responses of such Josephson-junction systems to external currents. It is shown that the generalized resistance and the power spectrum of voltage fluctuations are related via the flu...
